Rod Foote (Set & Tech Designer) has been doing the show biz thing for some years now beginning shortly after the earth cooled. In the case of Chatham Theatre Company, since 1981 when he and his wife, Janet, had a lapse of sanity and started the company after several years of working for others. In addition to acting in or directing a few hundred plays from A to Z over the years (Xerxes, Zorba, in case you were wondering, ) he also found time to put in 32 years as an air traffic controller for the Air Force and FAA, and a dozen years as a radio DJ "back when they really knew how to write good music"....like Flying Purple People Eater and The Monster Mash. Among his favorite characters played are George in Same Time, Next Year, Andrew in Sleuth, Fredrick in A Little Night Music and Elwood in Harvey. Among the dozens of shows he has written are included I Want To Be Happy, Brother Can You Spare a Song?, All This and World War Too, Branigan's Bar, Tumbling Tumbleweeds, A Spirit From a Christmas Past and our recent production, Fifteen Miles on the Erie Canal.
Janet Foote (Writer, Director, Costume designer) is the owner of the Chatham Theatre Company and also, from time to time, one of its actors. Among her starring roles over the years are included such productions as Mary Mary, Same Time Next Year, The Fourposter, Plaza Suite, The Dining Room and a few of her own plays such as Honeymoon at the Hoerner Hotel, Sweet Sue and Samantha's Song. She has also scripted several of our specialty seasonal shows including Christmas Star, A Wee Bit 'O the Irish, and Autumn in New York. In years past she has appeared in several national TV commercials and print ads. Active in all phases of production, she has designed most of the costumes used in our shows as well as decorating sets and manufacturing props. Inducted into the Rome Hall of Fame for the arts, she is also listed in Who's Who in American Entertainment.
Mark Bunce-Music Director is musically directing his 10th consecutive Christmas show for the Chatham Theatre Company (where does the time go?) Originally from West Winfield, NY, Mark is a very active music teacher for the Ilion School District. Known for the huge blockbuster musical productions he produces and directs every year for the Ilion High School, his production of Les Miserables was the very first licenced production of that world-reknowned show. Other mega-musicals he has produced and directed include Beauty and the Beast, Titanic, and My Fair Lady to mention just a few. A well-educated musician, he holds degrees from Michigan State and the Crane School of Music in Potsdam, NY.
Lisa Schacher to the rescue! For the third time in the past 10 years, Lisa has once again answered our panic call to replace a soprano who suddenly left the show. Since making her professional debut with us in the 1992 production of Spirit From a Christmas Past, andcontinuing on for 5 more years as she honed her skills in dozens of roles on the Chatham Theatre stage, she then moved on to the big city and promptly nailed down starring and feature roles in several national tours and regional theatres. Hair, Chorus Line, Hello Dolly to name a few of the headline shows in which she found success. Originally from Utica, NY, she is married with 2 daughters, Maya, 5 and Ava, 2. She and her husband Jeff now call Greenwich, CT home.
Jenny Kuehn Like Kristen, Jenny has spent the past summer in Skagway, Alaska performing as the reknowned "Squirrel-Tooth Alice" in The Days of 98 Show. It must be a pretty good gig as this was the third consecutive year she has performed in this particular show. A Southern California gal from the sunny shores of Huntington Beach, she left her parents and younger sister (not to mention her volleyball in which she excels) to attend and graduate the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. Among other productions in which she has appeared are included The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and Annie. "Mom, Dad, Cristina and Myles: Thanks for believing in me and putting up with everything I put you guys through. Love you."
